...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING
THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of eastern Connecticut and south central
  Massachusetts.

* WHEN...From 5 AM EDT early this morning through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of low-lying and
  flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and
  urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Showers and a few embedded thunderstorms with localized narrow
    bands of torrential rainfall overspread the region this morning.
    Widespread rainfall amounts of 0.50 to 2 inches are expected.
    However...localized narrow bands of 2-4" of rain are possible
    within a 3 hour period. While it remains uncertain if these
    narrow bands of heavier rain occur...the potential exists for
    localized flash flooding...especially if it were to occur over a
    vulnerable urban center.
