Today and Saturday expect high pressure ridging and mild temperatures on the mountain and across southern Idaho... beautiful weather continues.

Some marginal snowmaking weather coming up... Saturday night through Sunday night a strong and cold low pressure system clips the northern Rocky Mountains with snow to Montana and the Bitterroot Mountains of central Idaho (east of Bogus Basin), plus across Wyoming, with very cold air dropping south mainly east of the Rocky Mountains/ Great Divide, and some of this cold and dry air (best for snowmaking) seeping into the area, most noticeably Monday morning when some snow gun activity is possible, with 26f at 10,000 feet and a dew point temperature in the upper teens, the mountain should see dew point temps from the mid to upper 20's from top to base (respectively), and air temps of upper 20's to mid 30's Monday morning, then modifying slowly upward. It will be chilly but nothing like what we saw last week. Monday (Nov 11th) looks chilly and mostly sunny under a ridge of high pressure...

Next Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov 12-13th) it looks like the first storm in a series will take aim at the west coast, but the first one looks weak and mostly just producing some clouds for southern Idaho and Bogus Basin. Temperatures will be cool under the cloud layers...

Next Thursday and Friday (Nov 14-15th) the second storm will move in across the west coast with more energy and moisture, plus cold air, for colder temperatures and a chance for snow. I do not expect much from this one, light snowfall at best is what this one is looking like. Meteorologist/ Chris Manly

LONGER RANGE OUTLOOK: By around the 18th/ 19th (nice timing) of November expect stronger Pacific storms to start moving into the western US and Canada (the eastern US needed a bit more time to accumulate Snow... its only fair), as large scale low pressure starts affecting the entire western US and southwest Canada including Revelstoke and Kingfisher, with mountain snow, cold enough air temperatures for top to bottom snowfall at the resort elevations, and moderate to heavy early season accumulations to set us up for the Thanksgiving holiday! Bogus Basin should be looking good for Thanksgiving (need to check opening dates)!
Expect a colder and more snowy winter for Bogus Basin this season. I am still thinking an early opening on great early season conditions. We are in a neutral ENSO pattern (no El Nino or La Nina), leaning to La Nina this winter 2019-2020 I would say. This should produce favorable weather patterns to deliver regular snowfalls to southern Idaho and Bogus Basin, also extending north into British Columbia for Revelstoke and Kingfisher Heli!
